Hydro-fracking

At about midnight last night, the New York State Senate passed Bill S8129B mandating a moratorium on and a comprehensive study of hydro-fracking the Marcellus Shale. Senator Stephen Saland was one of 20 Republicans who along with 28 Democrats supported the bill.

  2. Anonymous: I think you may have misunderstood. Saland voted for the moratorium, as did the majority of the Senate: 48 ayes, 9 nays, 2 abstentions, 2 excused. Now the Assembly needs to pass a similar bill, which is expected to be voted on in September.
