UPDATE: 226-228 Warren Street

Last week, progress on the exterior of 226-228 Warren Street seemed to have stopped. The little roofs over the box windows, which had not been approved by the Historic Preservation Commission, were still there. When asked about the building, Code Enforcement Officer Peter Wurster confirmed that the owners of the building had "every intention of going ahead to comply with the approved drawing submitted to HP" but urged anyone who noticed the siding going up to contact him immediately.

This week, it appears that work on the exterior has resumed. The roofs have been removed, and brackets have been installed below the projecting windows, but it's still hard to imagine that this building will ever be compatible with the rest of the block.

  1. This will now be the view shed for DA/BA, who have done such a wonderful treatment to their business, including lit lanterns.

What a shame on so many levels.
