Hudson's Checkered Past

Andrew Amelinckx, as part of his series History happened here, has a feature article in today's Register-Star about Hudson's red light district and the 1950 raid by state police that shut it down: "The crime commission comes to town."

This picture of a Hudson madame and some of her girls appeared in Bruce Hall's comprehensive book on the subject, Diamond Street: The Story of the Little Town with the Big Red Light District (1994).
