More About 518 Columbia Street

The Register-Star today has an article about the situation with 518 Columbia Street and the City's displeasure with the Department of Social Services: "Homeless at 518 Columbia angers city officials." In the article, DSS Commissioner Paul Mossman explains that his agency did not place the formerly homeless tenants in the apartment at 518 Columbia Street; they had found it on their own. DSS had simply provided the cash assistance grant which enabled the men to rent the apartment from the building's owner, Phil Gellert.
