The Housing Market in the First Ward

The Galvan Partners broke ground on their latest project yesterday--four new houses to be constructed at the corner of Union and First streets. Meanwhile, there's been a curious development at another Galloway project in the neighborhood.

The restoration of this house at the corner of Second and Partition streets has been going on for more than a year. In the early spring, a Kingsley Daniels "For Sale" sign appeared on the house and then disappeared only to reappear briefly a month or so later and then disappear again.

Over the weekend, Gossips noticed "For Rent" signs in two windows of the building, with a phone number written in by hand. One wonders why this large and lavishly renovated house is being rented out instead of sold.
