The Register-Star'scoverage of the demolition of the Colored Citizens' Club, with quotes, some apparently recycled, from leaders of the African-American community: "Historic club goes down."
I do not understand why this building is considered demolished?They have only Demolished 3/4 of newer 70's building. They have not touched yet the old Church,1867 under there,that was the original sighting of "imminent collapse."There is no protection around any surrounding buildings,as of today 3:01.They left a tree holding up a 3 story free standing cinder-block wall,that could have collapsed by just the vibrations of the enormous trucks that turn there,as it is 23B and 9 G.during the late afternoon and last night.They were at it one day ,little to nothing was done today,no fanfare, no DPW workers,just a few demo co. workers for a few hours. The only part of the building that has been knocked down is 3 sides of the 1970's extention. They have not touched the 1867 Church struture and all the EPA Hazards it may hold.They have not touched the west wall,which was the original wall in" Immenent danger of collapse"They have not touched the south facing wall that runs along a neighbors backyard,except to leave this percarious freestanding 4 story cinderblock wall held up by a tree aimed right at 17 N3rd and the sidewalk,made more unstable ,by there digging into cellar. Nothing has been removed from site.
I have been told to if I want to see permits I must go thru FOIL,this.from the Bldg. Inspector and code enforcement officer,who I pay to protect me and my neighbors.Wurster had a cop come over to me.He didn't even know why,since I live there. Only after yesterday demanding of permits,which the Bldg. Dept could not produce one,did Peter Wurster finally say he did not have to permit himself.or Demo Co. Only today did air monitoring equipment appear after the fact ,from demandfing where it was. Hudson Law states that extermination must be done before a Demolition CO.can proceed.Wurster did not do that,because he ,himself did not see a rat.The last Bldg. gut renovated up the street,inundated all surrounding homes and across street.I excpect there will be some permit writing going on today. Wuster wrote Galloway a demo permit after they were completed with demo and no inspections at 260 Warren St. and N3rd. I have been to this rodeo before. Not one neighbor was given written notice of Demolition. DWP workers and Denmo workers roamed freely through restricted area ,from Asbestos,requiring resperatoers and proper clothing. No one on entire site had a hard hat on. The back length of 225-227 Columbia is completely unprotected and runs the lenght of a yard where children play. Unseen by the public.And with criminal negligence of the Very Officials we pay to protect us. The hostility is blatant ,there is no one within Hudson itself to go to for help.
The Health Dept has advised me to call NYS Uniform Building Code as Wurster will have to answer to them.I have been told by District Attorney Office to have my attorney submit unlawful actions taken or ignored by The City of Hudson pursuant to City of Hudson Code and Criminal Negligence directly.
Hudson is not an island unto itself and its officials are not above the law.Hudson has a very bad track record with this,which makes this even harder,because the citizens are lulled into,what can we do? "they run everything""they will only make your life miserable any chance they can take" there is literal fear amongst my neighbors. People who have lived here there whole lives.

There is a strong dictatorial state here in Hudson,and its citizenry,especially the least of us are afraid to take action. I have never felt more ,than I am right now,that I am no longer living in the United States of America
It is still like this at 12:15 pm.12/6/2011 The demo co. is running their electricity from the public housing center with an extension cord ,out their window across the public side walk ,into a puddle and then into resticted Asbestos hazard area to run their generator.The air monitoring service he hired,not a government agency, in Wurster's "employ", is called Ambient,The sole representative of this company, turned her public ID around when I approached her yesterday. Today I stood with the OSHA Inspector from the Dept of Labor overlooking where today 2 workers unsupervised in the PIT with a digger,hand loading the scoop,with a 4 story free standing unsupported cinder block wall looming above them,as giant trucks lumbered on by,shaking foundation and 2 more workers again not supervised threw debris into the PIT from the roof right above them.I had taken detailed photos of today's events.The disregard for human safety was astounding and we stood in the rain.There wasn't a soul in sight.There had been no job or traffic supervision all day.There are things beyond the letter of the Law.Walking around "restricted Asbestos Area"in the rain the Inspector pointed out that all of the contaminated water from the Asbestos Restricted Area and where all debris from Bldg.was running off across sidewalk ,was spilling down the grass embankment, soaking it with contaminated water, over the parking lot of the Islam Community Center,where the children play soccer. He said I need to call EPA,since Ambient Environmental Services is nowhere to be seen.It was 3:00pm. All I asked for was for The Bldg Dept to follow Code and Exterminate.I Hate Rats I am tired.Now I Have to worry about little kids playing soccer.No one else is here.Everyone is scared.I am damned with a moral compass My Mother is dying. I want to be left alone I have things to do All of this is brings back 10yrs ago in NYC.The first responders,workers,volunteers,down in the PILE Things I came upstate to forget. All the lies about the air quality all the lies period I'm tired of people dying too young,through indifference.
