Gleanings from Old Newspapers

A little sleuthing in the old newspapers on the Fulton History site uncovered some bits of information about a former resident of 834 Warren Street: Mrs. Bonneville, who lived in the house in the early decades of the 20th century. "Personal Notes and Jottings," press releases, and want ads in the Hudson Evening Register reveal that Mrs. Bonneville had a summer cottage at Kinderhook Lake, which she "opened" regularly each July but rented out in the summer of 1916; donated clothing for the poor and needy of the city; and was frequently in need of "a girl for housework."
