"Decadence Squared"

That's what the Chocolate Bar's owner, Kim Bach, calls the series of wine and chocolate tastings she has been hosting with Lewis and Risa Dimm of Fairview Wines & Spirits. Says Bach, "These tastings are to let people know that chocolate making has really become a fine art. It seems only natural to pair our selections with fine wines. Both are delicious, rich and subtly varied."

The tastings have been happening every other Saturday at the Chocolate Bar at 4 Front Street. This Saturday, May 26, the featured chocolates are from John Kelly Chocolates, artisanal chocolate makers who create their luxurious morsels in downtown Hollywood--yes, Hollywood, California. Pictured are Kelly's Dark Chocolate Truffle Fudge Bites with French Grey Sea Salt, which won him a gold medal in 2009 from the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade.

On Saturday, June 9, the chocolates for the tasting will come from the Mast Brothers, artisanal chocolate makers in Brooklyn.

The tastings take place from 5 to 7 p.m.--during that predinner period when you're feeling peckish and in need to something to enhance your mood.
