What to Do on Friday Morning

If your interests compel you and your work schedule permits, show up at City Hall tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. for the Historic Preservation Commission meeting. The Galvan Initiatives Foundation will be presenting three new projects for the HPC's consideration. Gossips and the Register-Star have reported on two of them already: the proposal to move 900 Columbia Street to the 200 block of Union Street and the proposal to move the Robert Taylor House to the first block of Union Street. The third was announced this morning in the Register-Star: converting this building, near the corner of Warren and Fifth streets and next to what's looking like American Glory's interpretation of the O.K. Corral, into retail space for Filli's Fresh Market, an offshoot of the Claverack Market.

  1. Filli's is one of the very best grocery stores in Columbia County! Another would be the Old Chatham Country Store.

    1. True, Ruth, but what Hudson needs is a Filli's.

    2. Also—how could I forget—Otto's Market in Germantown.
