The Word on 25 Railroad Avenue

The Columbia County Board of Supervisors voted last night to purchase 25 Railroad Avenue for $1.288 million. Apparently there is a reason why the county has agreed to pay 29 percent more than the price allegedly offered to the City of Hudson a year or so ago, but that reason, it seems, was revealed in executive session.

Nathan Mayberg has more on the story in today's Register-Star: "County will buy 25 Railroad Ave."

  1. If memory serves correctly, our county government spent a million $++ for the Ockawamick school and then walked away from that, spent something like $120K on a feasibility study on the Walmart building, and is now paying 29% more than the original stated price for Railroad Ave.

    WTF?
