Hudson in 1905: Part 44

The following is an excerpt from the booklet Illustrated Hudson, N.Y., published in 1905.

CHRISTIAN SCHNEIDER--Baker and Confectioner. No. 341 Warren street. This is one of the old established enterprises of Hudson, and was originally started by Samuel G. Rowles, some forty-two years ago. The present proprietor has been in control for one year, and thus far has maintained the high position which the concern has acquired in the community, bidding fair still further to increase the trade of the house. Mr. Schneider is a man of great ability and acuteness in the baking and confectionery line, and ever makes it a point to wholesale and retail only the best that can be put on the market. His premises are large, with all the latest and most up-to-date appliances and contrivances that are known to the bakers' art. The utmost care is taken with every article that is permitted to leave the shop. A number of skilled bakers are engaged in the business, and the finest and most delicious confections, bread, cakes, and pies are turned out daily. In the rear of the store is a beautiful ice cream parlor, where many of the people of Hudson may be seen partaking of the fine cream served there.
