Hudson in 1905: Part 54

The following is an excerpt from the booklet Illustrated Hudson, N.Y., published in 1905.

HENRY REUTENAUER--Baker and Confectioner. No. 746 Warren street. This business has been established in Hudson about two years, in which was formerly Rose's Bakery. Mr. Reutenauer is a man of many years' experience as a baker, and when he took the management of the concern he infused new life into it and placed it on a level with other business houses of the city. He now enjoys a large and profitable trade. The proprietor is especially careful to please every customer, and it is this which makes him as successful as he is. He uses none but the very best materials that can be found, and is careful to keep these as fresh and pure as possible. The growing trade makes it necessary for him to employ three experienced assistants.

Gossips Note: The tradition of there being a baker at this location is almost going to resume. The shop next door--748 Warren Street--is the site of Gabriele Gulielmetti's eagerly awaited bakery, Bonfiglio & Bread.
