Olana to Receive $343,000
Yesterday the distribution of $738 million in new economic development funds was announced in Albany. About $3 million were awarded to projects in Columbia and Greene counties. In Columbia County, $343,000 was awarded to The Olana Partnership for the continuing restoration of Frederic Church's 250-acre designed landscape at Olana. Nathan Mayberg reports on all the projects receiving funding in today's Register-Star: "Area getting millions in aid from state."
This blog takes its name from the 1850 novel by Hudson author Alice B. Neal. The original Gossips of Rivertown cast a gimlet eye on Hudson society in the mid-19th century. More than a century and a half later, the new Gossips carries on the spirit of the original, but in a different genre and with a different focus.
