Food in the New Year

On Epicurious, Sara Bonisteel predicts the top food trends of 2013. One of those trends is that cauliflower is replacing kale as the hot vegetable of the year. Janus-like, the Crimson Sparrow, Gossips discovered recently, offers both, superbly prepared, on their lunch menu

Another trend for 2013: the vegetable plate is not just for vegetarians anymore. Apropos this trend, January has been declared Falafel Awareness Month. Falafel, of course, is the vegetarian street food--never just for vegetarians--that found its way to Hudson two years ago. To celebrate Falafel Awareness Month, Park Falafel & Pizza is offering free falafel all month long. All you have to do to get your free falafel is go to the Park Falafel website and enter your email address. You will receive a coupon good for one free falafel sandwich which you can redeem at Park Falafel & Pizza, 11 North 7th Street, through January 31. So start the year off right and indulge yourself with what has been called "one of the world's most perfect foods."
