An Anniversary Approaches

According to John Mason, on Monday, July 15, it will be one year since a SWAT team evicted "three grumpy old men" from the Furgary Boat Club at 3 o'clock in the morning. To mark the approaching anniversary, Mason has an article about the erstwhile river camp in today's Register-Star: "One year later, shacks sit empty."

  1. Interesting, the City still has no plan to restore unfettered access to the Hudson. Also interesting that mayor Hallenbeck has the nerve to offer red herring to fishermen. The shacks "aren't up to code"? Will he now close 90% of the garages in town? When mayor Allen had the same (trumped up) complaint, code enforcement officer Jack Ravine inspected, his report said the accusations were unfounded. No, Rick Scalera's scheme to sell inner city access to the CLC has blown up in his face. Now the devil's disciple has one phony excuse after another. Shacks not withstanding, it's inner city liberty that they restrict...Let people flow!
