Mark Your Calendars

The Hudson Pride Parade has always been colorful. This year it's going to be glittering as well!

The Fifth Annual Hudson Pride Parade will take place on Saturday, June 21, and the theme of this year's parade is "Sparkle!" On that day--the summer solstice, the longest day of the year--the parade will "shimmer and shine its way down Warren Street, reflecting the sun's radiance." Significant also for this year's parade is that 2014 marks the 75th anniversary of the release, in 1939, of The Wizard of Oz.

If you're thinking about stepping into a pair of sequin encrusted ruby slippers--literally or figuratively--and stepping out in the parade, come to an open meeting hosted by the Pride Parade Committee on Wednesday, March 12, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting takes place at the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, 1 North Front Street. Everyone who wants to be part of the parade or help produce it is invited to attend. Pizza, soft drinks, and Trixie's cookies (with sparkles, of course) will be served.
