Can I Paint My House Purple?

A classic misunderstanding about owning a house in a historic district is that you don't have the freedom to paint your house any color you please. Either colors are dictated, or you have only a limited palette of "historic"colors from which to choose. Scott Baldinger puts the lie to that notion in the latest post on his blog, Word on the Street: "Color My World." The houses that inspired Baldinger's post are all in locally designated historic districts.
