Election Prep: Voter Registration

The election is exactly one month from today, on Tuesday, November 4. Voting is the right and privilege of every U.S. citizen over the age of 18, but you have to be registered.

If you are registering for the first time, you must do so by Friday, October 10, in order to vote on November 4. Click here to access a voter registration form. The form can be filled out online, but it must be printed out and mailed or hand delivered to the Columbia County Board of Elections, 401 State Street, Hudson. The Board of Elections is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

If you are already registered but have recently moved and need to change your address, you have until Wednesday, October 15, to do so. The form found here can also be used to notify the Board of Elections about a change of address.

If you are not sure if you are registered to vote or where you are registered, click here to find out.

  1. If your address change is from another county to Columbia County, you are considered a new registrant, and your deadline thus is October 10th.
