Officer Miller and Chief Cruise

At Chief Cruise's trial for dereliction of duty, Officer Miller testified that "he and Chief Cruise toured Hudson every day in the motorcycle and sidecar, covering the lower end of the town." He goes on to say that the only violation of the liquor law they discovered was "a Polish family down on Chapel St." It seems Officer Miller may have failed to mention in his testimony--as did officers McEnneney and Kendall--this incident, reported in the Columbia Republican for January 3, 1922, involving a business on upper Warren Street known as the Weaver Cigar Store.
