Congressional Watch

The Register-Star reports today that Congressman John Faso voted to overturn a regulation that prevented people who receive Social Security disability benefits because of a mental health condition from buying guns: "Faso votes in favor of overturning Obama-era gun policy, supports national reciprocity bill." The following is quoted from the article: "The policy was inspired in part by the 2012 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, where shooter Adam Lanza killed 20 children and six educators. An investigation released in 2014 found psychiatrists had recommended Lanza be treated for multiple mental health conditions, including obsessive-compulsive disorder, anxiety and anorexia, prior to the shooting."
