A Look at the Week Ahead

It's best to rest up today--it's expected to rain anyway--because, in the days ahead, there are meetings and public hearings that you may or may not want to attend.

Tomorrow, Monday, June 5, there's another meeting about Hudson's Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) application. After a special meeting of the Common Council Economic Development Committee last Thursday, the list of prioritized projects being considered for sought-after $10 million grant has been refined. The new list will be the topic of discussion in the process of preparing the ever evolving application, which is due on June 14. (Click on the image below to enlarge.)

The meeting about the DRI takes place at 6 p.m. at 1 North Front Street.

On Tuesday, at 6 p.m. at City Hall, the Conservation Advisory Council holds its monthly meeting. At the meeting, the CAC is expected to take up the thorny issue of which sea-level rise projection should inform the Open Space and Natural Resources Inventory for Hudson the CAC is now in the process of creating.

On Thursday, the Planning Board meets at 6:30 at City Hall. The evening is expected to start out with a public hearing about the proposal to relocate the Starting Place, the COARC early childhood program, to the basement at the armory. In addition to the public hearing, the Planning Board will very likely be taking up the review of the already completed changes made by A. Colarusso & Sons to the dock.

Finally, on Friday morning at 10 a.m., there will be a site visit by the Historic Preservation Commission to 429 East Allen Street, the location of the proposed fence to be erected around a garden beside St. Mary's Rectory. 

After the site visit, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a public hearing on the proposed fence is expected to take place at City Hall.
