Two Galvan Houses for Sale

It is still not publicly known which of the many Galvan properties in Hudson will be included in the gift to Bard College, but we can surmise that another two of them will not be included: 70 and 72 North Fifth Street. The two houses were acquired as one property--described as a two-family house--by Galvan Partners in 2011 and renovated by Galvan in the past year or so. The pictures below show the houses sometime in the 1930s and earlier today.

The two houses, which were until recently one parcel, have been subdivided and are now for sale. The asking price for 72 North Fifth Street is $879,000.

According to tax records, Galvan Partners purchased the two-family house in 2011 for $80,000. This was one of ten properties whose assessments were challenged by Galvan in an Article 7 proceeding against the City of Hudson last year. On January 5, 2025, Gossips reported that the assessment on the property was $290,000, and Galvan wanted it reduced to $128,510. The final assessment roll for 2025 indicates the property, with a single tax ID number, is still assessed at $290,000.
