Tonight at City Hall
In case you feel that you've been on holiday long enough and want to get back to the rigor and thrill of observing city government, tonight's informal Common Council meeting offers a full agenda. Marina Abramovic will be making a presentation to the Council about the plans for her performance art institute; among the resolutions (there are six) is one "authorizing transfer of property from Columbia County to the City for use as a park and other purposes"; and the items for discussion include the plan for the police and court building, the question of who actually owns 4.4 acres on the waterfront, and the appraisals of two City-owned properties (probably the Dunn warehouse and the vacant lot at State and Fourth streets). It all begins at 7 p.m.
