Something truly bizarre happened this morning on City Hall Place, involving the Hudson Police Department and the Greenport Rescue Squad. Click herefor the story.
Exactly what the police did. They had no choice, and the car owner should have known better as to what was likely to ensue. Thus if he sues for damages, he should lose.
What occurred to my cynical little mind, is that the mannequin was being used so that the driver could pretend two persons were in the car and fool the police when using lanes that require two passengers in the car. I assume NYS has such lanes. In CA, they are everywhere.
This hit the National & International news! Caught my attention when watching the CBS Morning News, and then saw it again in the Telegraph, a major UK newspaper! Hudson hits the world press again!
I would have done the same. That is, I hope I would have done the same.
ReplyDeleteYou mean put a mannikin in your car? Me too!
DeleteNo. Forgive me, unheimlich, for solemnity in this season. I would have dialed 911. I would have broken the back window. I hope.
DeleteOf course. And please forgive my flippancy in this season.
