This morning, the fence around the sidewalk seating area was removed and the awning came down at 342 Warren Street, formerly American Glory and originally the firehouse for H. W. Rogers Hose Co. No. 2.
Gossips has learned that the new restaurant coming soon to the space will be open seven days a week.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure. In July, the word was it would be a steak restaurant, and in August, it was revealed it would operated by Robb Finn, who was the executive chef at BackBar. I recommend we just wait and see.

DeleteReminder to locals: restaurants cater primarily to visitors, they cannot survive without them. Visitors won't go looking for or buy vegan (and most Hudsonians aren't interested either). Plus, it ain't gonna happen in such a small city with astronomical rents.
DeleteHello Bill. I disagree, I think there is a real void for either plant based focused for a completely Vegan option in Hudson. Garden Cafe in Woodstock is completely Vegan is wildly successful. People eat planted based for many reasons: religious, ethical, environment or their love of animals. Kitty's added a second Vegan option because of the demand, Lil' Ricos only sells sweets that are Vegan which sell out daily, Lil' Debs Vegan options are requested frequently and ShopRite vegan options sell fast according to an employee I spoke with. Also, Talbot & Arding has added more options since we move her 18 months ago. I think both tourists and locals are interested in a place that offers excellent food, friendly service at a reasonable price point. My spouse is not Vegan, but when we travel to Montreal he always insists on the Vegan restaurants because of their incredibly tasting food. I recently took a friend to Kitty's who is a local and works at WonderBar, not a Vegan, I suggested the Vegan dumplings and she said it was one of the best meals she ever had, she will go back just for that meal. Also, I cannot tell you how many people have reached out because they have people who are traveling to Hudson that want Vegan options. I truly believe people are moving towards a higher consciousness ! #veganfortheanimals #AHIMSA
DeleteThe Lucky Dog has it right. Both locals and visitors are looking for plant based options. On the east side of the Hudson, there is a vegan food desert. You'd have to go to the city to partake of the incredible choices offered there. Bill, if you have never eaten in a well conceptualized vegan restaurant, you may be missing something. For vegans, dining at a totally meatless environment is heaven. Looks like you're under the impression that vegan food is boring and low on protein. Neither is the case and when thoughtfully executed, competes with any other eatery on Warren. Superiority Burger in Manhattan is worth a look as an example of what would most definitely work here.
