Hudson's newest restaurant, Saint Florian, located in the former H. W. Rogers Hose Co. firehouse and cleverly named for the patron saint of firefighters, is offering for sale the tote bag shown below, which features a quote attributed to The Gossips of Rivertown.
Since the quote is a little hard to read in the photograph, I will repeat it here: "Steak House? Ugh, how pedestrian. Hudson needs to step up."
Truth be told, the quote is not anything Gossips wrote, but rather it is a comment on a post published back in September: "Change on the Street." More truth, Saint Florian is hardly a "steak house." Just check out the menu.
I love a business with a good sense of humor.

Thanks for sharing Gossips. I, too love a business with a sense of humor. With these prices ($8 for a clam? $33 for 1/2 a chicken?) they must be joking. One more new business in Hudson that is trying to appeal to the hipsters and leaving out the locals. Really funny.
ReplyDeleteWowser, you don't know that, man! Menu says "Classic Roasted Chicken". Could be a whole chicken. Just the right cure for when ravenous Kamal and Tom file out of 520 Warren St after a grueling 40 min work day.
DeleteA much needed addition to the Hudson restaurant scene. A successful restaurant benefits everyone.
ReplyDeleteWith the rumored addition of Miller Lite to the menu , a very talented chef and friendly staff like Eric and Angelica this place can be fantastic.
I’ve been there twice so far and I think it’s fantastic. It’s open from 11-11, 7 days a week and the staff is quite friendly. I think the prices are very reasonable for Hudson, especially the lounge menu, which is also a nice local place to enjoy drinks. A cheeseburger is $9. The martinis are also giant :)
ReplyDeleteWell the lounge is open 7 days a week. The dining room is only open on Friday and Saturday (catering to the weekend crowd like many Hudson businesses). The menu for the lounge looks really good. I'm definitely going to check it out.
