There are many initiatives currently being pursued to create more rental housing in Hudson--facilitating construction of ADUs, HHA's redevelopment plan to double its units, the Galvan and Kearney projects. Now there's another program to assist in getting more rental units on the market: RUPCO's Vacant Rental Program.
The program is meant to help owners of rental properties bring vacant units and spaces in small-scale properties back into productive use as affordable long-term rental units. Eligible applicants can receive grants of up to $75,000 per unit. In exchange for funds, landlords must agree to keep rents affordable for up to ten years.
There will be an information session about the program on Thursday, May 29, at 5:30 p.m., on Zoom. For more information and to register for the information session, click here.
