The parking kiosks, which have been sitting in a DPW storage facility somewhere since March, are finally making their appearance on the street. One of the first is this one, which was installed yesterday on the sidewalk outside the municipal parking lot between the First Presbyterian Church and Moto Coffee/Machine.

According to the Parking Plan published in March, the installation of this kiosk and one at the parking lot at 309-313 Warren Street was to be Phase III of the plan, to happen in Summer 2025. Although the schedule has changed (Phase II appears to have been postponed), the plan, which can be found here, is useful in understanding where the rest of the kiosks are destined to be installed.COPYRIGHT 2025 CAROLE OSTERINK
Start counting the months that all that spray paint remains on the sidewalks in front of the 4 new kiosks around town, a testament to the many "improvements" our kiosks bring us. I say it takes a year and a half for it to fade away. That paint is DPW work, all (or most) of it seemingly unnecessary. There is such a thing as temporary spray paint, but DPW does not believe in it. Nor does National Grid, Verizon or any of their utility contractors.
