The public hearing on the proposed city budget for 2026 is set to take place on Wednesday, November 19, at City Hall. At last night's special meeting of the Common Council, city treasurer Heather Campbell said the budget would be on the city website later today, to allow members of the public to scrutinize it.
In the meantime, Hudson Common Sense has published its analysis of the proposed budget, calling for the Common Council to reject it and send it back to the Board of Estimate and Apportionment (BEA) "to make trade-offs that avoid dipping into the fund balance, if not avoid raising taxes altogether." You can read what Hudson Common Sense has to say here.
