This evening is chockablock with meetings, and you may find yourself wishing you could be in two places at once.
At 5:30 p.m., the Columbia County Board of Supervisors Airport Committee meets to review the proposed runway layout and the final airport resolution and vote on whether or not to move the resolution forward to the full Board of Supervisors. The proposed runway layout appears below; the airport resolution can be viewed here.
The meeting takes place in the committee room at 401 State Street.
At 6 p.m., the Board of Supervisors Public Works Committee will meet, in the same committee room at 401 State Street. Among the expected business of the meeting is accepting a bid to replace the windows at the courthouse. Some of the courthouse windows ought to be replaced, especially the reconfigured ones with the white vinyl inserts to hold air conditioners, but others should probably be repaired.
At 6:30 p.m., there is an open meeting to plan the 5th Annual Hudson Pride Parade that will take place on Saturday, June 21. The theme of this year's parade is SPARKLE! and it is expected to be the glitteriest parade ever.
Anyone who would like to be part of the parade, is interested in volunteering, or just wants to know more about it is invited to come to the meeting, which takes place at the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce, 1 North Front Street. This meeting has the distinction of being the only one taking place tonight at which there will be food--pizza, soft drinks, and cookies from Trixie's Oven . . . with sparkles!
At 7 p.m., the monthly meeting of the Hudson Planning Commission is scheduled. It is not known what is on the agenda, but there must be some business before the commission, because at noon City Hall had received no word that the meeting had been cancelled. At its January meeting, the Planning Commission heard the initial presentation of Galvan's latest plan for the old orphan asylum at the corner of State and Seventh streets and the old auto dealership behind it.
At 7:30 p.m., the full Board of Supervisors meets, and if the Airport Committee agrees to move forward with the airport resolution, that resolution may be voted on by the full board at tonight's meeting.
