Help Preservation a Community Treasure

The Friends of the First Presbyterian Church (FFPC) have launched their annual 1,000 Stars campaign to raise funds for the preservation of a historic community landmark, the First Presbyterian Church.

The fundraiser is part of FFPC's ongoing efforts to preserve and restore the church's infrastructure. The church building, constructed in 1837 and expanded in 1876, recently had its roof replaced thanks to generous donations from the community and from historic preservation and community organizations, including New York Landmarks Conservancy's Sacred Sites program, Hudson River Bank & Trust Foundation, and the Hover Foundation. The new roof will protect the church from further water damage and allow for its continued use as a place of worship and community programs.

Additional repairs are needed, including masonry restoration, repairs to the towers, and improving accessibility. All funds donated through the 1,000 Stars campaign will go toward these and other structural repairs.
