As a little hat tip to the 1810 house at 900 Columbia Street which is no more, the bricks at 215 Union Street, which may or may not actually be from that demolished house, are being laid in a Flemish bond pattern, the brickwork pattern of the original house.
Of course, at 215 Union Street, the alternating stretcher and header pattern of Flemish bond is purely decorative not structural. The idea of bond is to connect the wythes of brick together in a structural wall that is more than one brick thick. The brick at 215 Union is just a veneer being applied to an already constructed wall.
