COVID-19 Update

The Columbia County Department of Health has released its numbers for today. The number of new cases is going down, but the deaths continue. The CCDOH reports two more deaths today, bringing the total number of county residents who have died from COVID-19 to 77. The number of new cases reported today is fifteen, but the number of active cases is 126 fewer today than yesterday, suggesting that 139 more county residents are now considered to be recovering. There are five fewer people hospitalized with the virus today than yesterday and two fewer in the ICU. 

The New York Forward dashboard is reporting a positivity rate for Columbia County yesterday of 8.1 percent--once again the highest in the Capital Region--and a seven-day average of 6.8 percent--also the highest in the Capital Region. By comparison, the daily positivity rate for the entire Capital Region is 5.4 percent and the seven-day average is 4.5 percent.
