After taking the weekend off from reporting, the Columbia County Department of Health released its numbers early today--at 1:00 p.m. Since Friday, there have been 3 more deaths from COVID-19 and 335 new cases. The number of active cases being reported today is 114 more than on Friday, from which it can be inferred that, since Friday, 218 county residents have recovered from the virus. There are 92 fewer county residents in mandatory quarantine today than on Friday, but the number hospitalized remains the same. Of those hospitalized, there is 1 fewer in the ICU.
The New York Forward dashboard is reporting a positivity rate for Columbia County today of 18.5 percent and a seven-day average of 21.0 percent. By comparison, the daily positivity rate for the Capital Region is 19.6 percent and the seven-day average is 19.5.
A year ago today, the CCDOH reported 56 new cases of COVID-19. The total number of cases was 2,175, and the number of active cases was 296. There were 353 county residents in mandatory quarantine, 26 were hospitalized, and 1 was in the ICU. The total number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 at this time last year was 53.
