Meetings and Events in the Week Ahead

Now that we have passed the midpoint of July and are a third of the way into summer, here is what's happening.
  • On Monday, July 21, the Hudson Housing Authority Board of Commissioners meets at 6:00 p.m. Based on a statement made by Jeffrey Dodson at the board's June meeting, it is expected that the results of the borings done at the end of May, to assess the land on which Phase I is to be constructed, will be reported at this meeting. And as always, there is the outside chance the public might get some idea of what the proposed buildings will actually look like. The meeting is a hybrid, taking place in person in the Community Room at Bliss Towers, 41 North Second Street, and on Zoom. Click here to join the meeting remotely. 
  • On Tuesday, July 22, the Common Council ad hoc Parking Study Committee meets at 6:00 p.m. Chances are more will be revealed at this meeting about the rollout of the new parking plan. The meeting is a hybrid, taking place in person at City Hall and on Microsoft Teams. Click here for the link to join the meeting remotely.
  • On Wednesday, July 23, Waterfront Wednesdays features Pulso de Barro. The festivities in Henry Hudson Riverfront Park begin at 4:00 p.m. and continue until sunset. The performances begin at 6:00 p.m.
  • On Thursday, July 24, Hudson Community Development and Planning Agency holds two meetings. 
    • At 4:15 p.m., the HCDPA Property Disposition Committee holds a meeting in person at City Hall and on Microsoft Teams. Click here for the link to join the meeting remotely.
    • At 5:00 p.m., the regular monthly HCDPA meeting takes place in person at City Hall and on Microsoft Teams. Click here for the link to join the meeting remotely.  
  • On Friday, July 25, the Historic Preservation Commission makes a site visit at 9:30 a.m. to 9 Partition Street, where construction of a new three-story residential building is being proposed. 
  • At 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 25, the Historic Preservation Commission holds its second meeting of the month. A public hearing on internally illuminated signs on Warren Street, which was supposed to happen on July 11, may happen at this meeting.   • On Saturday, July 26, mayoral candidate Peter Spear launches a new series of public conversations he is calling Neighbors. The first conversation, featuring Mark Allen, takes place at the Park Theater, 723 Warren Street, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
