At the end of the Planning Board meeting on October 28, it was agreed that members of the Planning Board would submit their additions and emendations to the draft resolution to the Planning Board attorney Victoria Polidoro, and those changes would be discussed at the next meeting of the Planning Board. At that meeting as well, Theresa Joyner, who chairs the Planning Board, said there was a full agenda for their regular meeting, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, November 12, so they would have to schedule a special meeting exclusively for Colarusso, which they did. It was to take place on Tuesday, November 18, at the Central Fire Station, because that was the same night as the Common Council meeting, and the Council would be occupying City Hall.
Although it hasn't been posted on the city website yet, Gossips has seen the agenda for Wednesday's Planning Board meeting. There are two public hearings on not very controversial issues--subdividing 70-72 North Fifth Street so the double house can be sold as two separate properties, and keeping chickens at 3 Storm Avenue. Other than that, the only thing on the agenda is Colarusso and its conditional use permit application for its dock operation.
This change in the agenda may come as an unpleasant surprise to members of the Planning Board who were going to follow through on the assignment to submit additions and corrections about the draft resolution. Their input is now due two days from now and not on November 18 as expected.

It should also be noted that these two properties have been listed for sale by Galvan since early September, which would create an odd position for any potential buyer. This is reminding all of us of two important things by highlighting:
ReplyDelete1. Galvan's backwards way of working within the city. (breaking rules until its too late to do anything)
2. The shear slowness and inefficiency of the current planning board leadership.
Planning board leadership?!?! Honestly?! What leadership would that be?! Christ on a cracker — in a small town or city, “leadership” is a verb, not a noun.
DeleteI think the election results are the reason for the switcheroo. My hope is that Ms. Joyner only has a few meetings left as chair.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone kept count of how many meetings have been held concerning Colarurusso?
