Dunn Warehouse Update

Last Friday, Gossips wondered in a post what was happening with the Dunn warehouse. An RFP for its redevelopment and adaptive reuse had been issued in April, and proposals were received in early June, but months have passed, and there was no word about the proposals received.

The post inspired an answer from mayor's aide Michael Hofmann, who provided the information that the DRI Committee had reviewed the proposals and is making a recommendation to the Common Council. The committee is recommending the proposal presented by CGS Group, a partnership of Caitlin Baiada, Gabriel Katz, and Sean Roland, all three of whom are involved in the adaptive reuse of the Pocketbook Factory and two of whom are partners in the purchase of The Wick Hotel. CGS Group will be making a presentation to the Common Council next week at the informal meeting, which is happening on Tuesday, October 10.

The DRI (Downtown Revitalization Initiative) Committee ceased holding its meetings in public three years ago. At that time, the committee was made up of the mayor, the mayor's aide, the city attorney, the Common Council president, the city treasurer, and the commissioner and the superintendent of Public Works. It is not known if all the people who now hold these positions are still serving on the committee, but one person has been added since 2020: Margaret Morris, the councilmember who represents the First Ward.
