It's been a few years since Gossips has reported a bear sighting in Hudson. The last time was in 2022. Most bear sightings have occurred around this time of year, in early June, when young hungry bears venture into human habitat seeking food.
Yesterday afternoon, a reader spotted a bear in the vicinity of North Second and Dock streets and provided Gossips with these pictures and a video.
Where the bear is now is not known, but people in that part of the city should probably keep an eye out lest the bear is lingering in the vicinity.

Super Sweet!
ReplyDeleteLike a kid in a candy store. That bird feeder will keep them coming back. NYS DEC advises that bird feeders come down after April 1st each year.
ReplyDeleteThe Catskill Mountains region (not including us over here) has one of the highest densities of black bears in the state, if not the highest. They've been here far longer than we colonizers have been.
ReplyDeleteWish I could climb a tree. Cuter, smarter and sweeter than some human denizens.
