Demolition by Neglect . . . and Ice and Snow

The Register-Star has the story this morning: "Brick Tavern roof collapses." The article contains comments about the destruction suffered by the landmark at the intersection of Routes 66 and 9H and details of its history from Rod Blackburn and Ruth Piwonka, authors of A Visible Heritage: Columbia County in Art and Architecture; Mary Howell, Columbia County Historian; and Mary Hallenbeck.

  2. Yes, terrible. My wife and I always liked that building very much much. Another depressing example of decay and neglect in Columbia County and upstate New York.
