The documentary Sunday Best: The Untold Story of Ed Sullivan, which can now be seen on Netflix, includes this clip from Ed Sullivan's visit to Hudson in October 1959. Sullivan was in Hudson to tour the "set" of the film Odds Against Tomorrow with one of the film's stars, Harry Belafonte, who appears in this clip with Sullivan.
Mayor Kelly, who is mentioned by Sullivan, is John L. Kelly, who served as Hudson's mayor from 1950 to 1961. Lance Wheeler, who alerted Gossips to this clip in Sunday Best, would want me to mention that in November 1961 Kelly was "soundly defeated" by his father, Samuel T. Wheeler.
