Signs of Change

Today's Register-Star has an article about the findings of the volunteer signage committee: "Survey shows need for signage upgrades." One finding, attributed to committee member Chad Weckler, who represents the Hudson Business Alliance, is that "at the intersection of South Third Street and Warren Street, there is an arrow pointing left toward the river for the business district—while there really should be . . . a sign with arrows pointing both directions on Warren."

Look again. The arrow on that sign actually does point both ways, but it appears that at some time a prankster tried to peel off the arrowhead that points east.

  1. At the last Hudson Business Coalition monthly open meeting images from the survey were projected and my quote in the Register Star originated from someone's verbal observation of the image at that meeting. I wasn't looking at the screen at the time, I was taking the minutes.

But if you are new to Hudson and driving, trying to find your way, I would bet that many people would assume that the arrow points one way.
