Turn Your Radios On

Although Gossips has been unable to confirm this, there is a good likelihood that last week's events at the Register-Star will be a topic of discussion by Times Union editor Rex Smith, University at Albany communication professor Rosemary Armao, and Daily Freeman publisher emeritus Ira Fusfeld on WAMC's The Media Project. The show, which was taped earlier this week, airs tonight (Sunday) at 6 p.m. and tomorrow (Monday) at 3 p.m. If you're near a radio at six o'clock tonight, it's worth tuning in to 90.3 FM (Albany) or 97.1 FM (Hudson) to hear what they may have to say about the issue.

  1. It seems that the Register-Star's ill-considered management decisions have garnered them much, much more negative attention than they bargained for at local and national levels. Publisher Roger Coleman may consider himself part of the behind-the-scenes ruling class of Clown Town Hudson, but such dinosaurs as he have a way of becoming extinct. It can't happen soon enough.

  2. The Watertown Daily Times is the flagship of the Johnson Newspaper Corporation. The corporation's address is the same as the Daily Times' address:

260 Washington St., Watertown, NY 13601.

  3. Tonight's panel of newspaper people should have covered the Register-Star story, but they couldn't take time from their self-serving smugness for a discussion that's actually challenging.

Trump hair jokes? Hannity vs. Maddow? PATHETIC.

    Way to go WAMC.

  4. If enough of the folks active on this blog email Rex Smith and Alan Chartock directly I bet they'll cover the story.
