Highlights from Girlgantua's Drag Race
Despite the gloom and drizzling rain, the first ever Girlgantua's Drag Race, to benefit the Hudson Moose Lodge, took place as scheduled on Halloween night. Only in Hudson.
The winner, being crowned in this picture, circled the square in 1 minute and 5 seconds . . . or was it 1 minute and 9 seconds? For details of the event, see Arthur Cusano's report in the Register-Star: "Drag race sprints for good cause."
This blog takes its name from the 1850 novel by Hudson author Alice B. Neal. The original Gossips of Rivertown cast a gimlet eye on Hudson society in the mid-19th century. More than a century and a half later, the new Gossips carries on the spirit of the original, but in a different genre and with a different focus.
