Next Saturday, November 16, BeLo3rd's ART/DINE Gallery Stroll returns, offering tastings from eight BeLo3rd eateries at seven Belo3rd galleries. Of particular interest is a tribute exhibition, opening that night at BCB ART, of outsider art collected by the late Cynthia Coulter.
A respected artist, Coulter had a passion for collecting unique and unusual outsider art from her native state of Oklahoma, as well as from rural locales in Texas, Illinois, and New York. The exhibition features select pieces from her collection--handmade lamps fashioned from ice cream sticks and marbles, tables made from twigs and spools, colorful paintings and drawings, and polychromed carved wooden animals.
In accordance with the artist's wishes, the proceeds from the sale of these works will be donated to charities dear to her heart, among them the Texas Women's Shelter and the Humane Society of the United States.
