In today's Register-Star, Jeff Alexander reports that the Phase II environmental study of 25 Railroad Avenue is expected to be completed in two weeks: "DSS study done soon." This is the building that has housed the Columbia County Department of Social Services since 1991. For the past twenty years, the County has leased the building from its owner, Anthony Concra, and is now contemplating buying the building. The City of Hudson, in the person of former mayor Rick Scalera, has also been interested in purchasing the building to relocate the police department and city court.
