In Case You Missed It

Last week, an article by Jamie Larson about the new Frederic Church Center for Art and Landscape at the Olana State Historic Site appeared in Rural Intelligence: "Olana's New Award-winning Multi-million Dollar Building Is Almost Invisible."

  1. 🏞️ What a treat and asset for all... hopefully one day there can be some connection between an expanded Bronson House and its surrounding grounds and Olana

  2. Watching the catastrophic wildfires in Los Angeles makes me worry about the risk wildfire could pose to Olana. There's a lot of accumulated brush and dead trees on the ground at Olana.
The climate is changing, and severe drought is becoming more common in the Hudson valley. I hope the fire hydrant system at Olana is well-maintained and tested on a regular basis and that brush and fallen trees are managed by OPRHP in strategic areas near flammable wooden buildings.
