Tomorrow, Saturday, September 20, the New York State Bridge Authority celebrates the 90th anniversary of the Rip Van Winkle Bridge, which opened on July 2, 1935.
The celebration begins at 9:30 a.m. with a special ceremonial motorcade featuring vehicles from every decade since the bridge opened in 1935--from vintage Model As to modern sports cars and motorcycles. A similar motorcade was assembled last year to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Bear Mountain Bridge.
The motorcade will assemble at Columbia-Greene Community College and will cross the bridge from east to west. The recommended spot for viewing the motorcade is the park next to the Administration Building on the Catskill side.

There was a wonderful lady who used to be in the toll booth at the RVW Bridge. I always enjoyed having a few words with her when crossing the river. Then the bridge authority automated the passage, shucks.
