The Register-Star reports today about Mayor Joe Ferris and his efforts to understand the current status of the transfer of properties in Hudson from the Galvan Foundation to Bard College: "Hudson mayor 'frustrated' with Bard's lack of clarity on Galvan gift."
There is not much new information in the article, but there is this:
Columbia Economic Development Corporation CEO F. Michael Tucker and other officials compiled an 86 properties [sic] in Hudson and Greenport owned by various Galvan legal entities.
There are three properties on the list of properties Galvan plans to continue to own, which include the historic houses at 14 and 16 N. 4th St., and the theater at 724-726 Columbia St. However, the rest of the properties are likely part of the transfer to Bard, Tucker said.

One of those houses on 4th has a mailbox stuffed full of mail that hasn't been touched for several months, maybe beyond a year. Both houses are being neglected badly and to walk past them is more evidence of a city in decline and a City Hall that cannot pay attention.
