The other morning when William and I were on the homestretch of our morning walk, I heard classical piano music emanating from somewhere nearby. It wasn't recorded music; it was live. Was one of my neighbors a secret piano virtuoso?

Then I recalled hearing that pianists Vladimir Pleshakov and Elena Winthur, who closed their Pleshakov Music Center on Warren Street a few years ago and departed to Hunter to establish the
Pleshakov Piano Museum, were back on this side of river and living at St. Michael's Ukrainian Orthodox Church--the former Collier mansion. I was hearing internationally renowned pianist Vladimir Pleshakov practicing!
