Gossips just received the following information:
City Hall has no internet access due to last night's storm. As a result, City employees cannot access any systems and there is no phone service. Given these limitations, City Hall will be closed today. City employees will be working from home to whatever extent possible given the ongoing power and internet outages. If you need to reach us immediately, please leave a voicemail for the appropriate person as each voicemail transcript is sent in real time via email to the recipient.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
The city’s IT situation is perplexing. We need to appoint an Information Systems Justice Director.
ReplyDelete- Last year a certain resident opted not to buy the expired City domain when it was available for $9.99, despite the fact that whoever controlled it could have rerouted all City email and opened a financial-crime vector. The City Clerk again saved the day.
ReplyDelete- Last week, Housing Justice Director Michelle Tullo's City Hall email sent phishing messages to everyone she has corresponded with, confirming her account was compromised.
- It is worth asking what was in that inbox, and whether material she has never produced in response to FOIL requests (arguing sensitivity) may now sit in the hands of whoever breached it... maybe we can get the public information about our tax dollars from them?
- Now the internet is out. But all other businesses on Warren continued to operate.
And the mayor is away from City Hall "on vacation thru July 1st."
Time for a City Manager.
